Honda Gold Wing motorcycle line has been for years one of the MOST RELAIBLE motorcycles ever made and are known to go over 200k miles on the same engine. Drive shaft instead of chain drastically reduces maintenance. Surprisingly many of the early Honda Gold wings made in 70? with 1000cc engines are still on the road today.
Here is some history:
In 1984 the Honda GL1200 Gold Wing was introduced. It was released in two models: Honda GL1200 Interstate and a limited model GL1200 Aspencade, with more technology which included: leveling front and rear suspension, driver-passenger intercom system, cruise control, a Panasonic stereo with Dolby noise reduction, front seat stereo speakers, an improved seat, a more elaborate paint scheme and an exclusive color (two tone brown or gold), additional rear lights, a more sophisticated instrument panel with digital info layout, and a sophisticated trip computer. It also had an increased alternator capacity, allowing even more electronics to be added to the bike. The Espencade model was the best seller for years to come. True Interstate cruiser with full luxury seating configuration, extremely reliable power plant providing smooth and stable ride at any speeds. It was true winner which drove some competitors out of business.
In the later years Honda introduced Gold Wing 1500 and 1800 models and tried to regain its popularity by increasing the weight and size of the engine but at the same time lowered its fuel range and maneuverability. It also increased amount of heat delivering by now the 6 cylinder engines which is running on rider?s and passenger?s legs.
Many experts still believe that the 4 cylinder GL1200 was the most popular and best interstate motorcycle model ever made.
The bike looks and runs excellent and I often receive complements from other riders on its condition. I am mature rider and this is my 4th Honda Gold Wing I have owned. It starts easy and all it systems work as they should. The bike is similar to: Yamaha Venture, Honda Valkyrie, Kawasaki Voyager, Suzuki Cavalcade or Harley Davidson Electra Glide. Why would you want get a loan and buy a new one for over 20k to take a trip of your life time if you can get this one just for $3300. You could still sell it for that in a couple years if you take care of it.
I have a clear title and current registration. I might include a helmet if you need to ride it home. Text or LM: (951)
